Freezing to death in your own home? Learn to live in just one room
My kid looked out the window just the other day and proclaimed excitedly "Wow, it looks just like Frozen out there!" Yes, Disney's Frozen. It's one thing for it to look and feel "frozen" on the outside but I'd rather not be stuck freezing to death in the interior of our home.
Power's Out, it's freaking cold outside and as it nears night time the temperature drops further. What are your plans?
As I've stated previously, I've thought about this subject on and off all year. I've thought about hunkering down in one small room and trying to keep my family warm in there. Blankets, sleeping bags, kerosene heater, ways to cook food off grid, food preps, hygiene preps, sewing curtains for windows to keep the cold out, etc.
Remember to prep the vehicles for winter as well. Make sure you have an emergency kit ready for use just in case.
Layer up, stay warm and be ready!
