There are a tonne available out there on the net or feel free to make one for yourselves that you can customize to fit your own needs.
Here are some examples of what I am talking about:
- This calendar (brought to you in part by Washington County,Oregon) includes preps to make every month for one year. Each month features a number of items that are recommended for purchase and activities for you to complete to help prepare you. You may find this resource at: http://www.ocem.org/pdf_resources/Prep_Calendar.pdf -I thought this looked like a good list and was well organized.
- This calendar from the Mississippi State Department of Health website is built according to a week-by-week prepping schedule for a total of 24 weeks. It included activities to complete and preps to purchase during that time. Found here: http://msdh.ms.gov/msdhsite/_static/44,4798,122,218.html#Week24
- If you were to make your own calendar you would want to consider the number of people in your family and any pets that you might have. Make goals, consider what you are short on, what are your priorities?
- I would recommend buying or printing off a calendar (or making one).
- What is your timeline- do you want to achieve goals on a daily, weekly, weekend, or monthly basis? Plan some purchases- (if you are on a strict budget-keep these purchases small- it doesn't have to be a huge expense just as long as it is getting you just that much closer to being prepared ie: buy 1 extra can of beans at the grocery store this week- you're now one can more prepared than you were the previous month).
- Decide on some activities to do for yourself or with others. Ie: Get your legal will in order, make an emergency plan, inventory your supplies, make sure flash lights and batteries are set in a number of locations in the house so you know where to find them during a power outage, prepare bug out bags, etc.
- Need more ideas on where to start or what to do check out our prepper bucket list for activity ideas.
- Put it where you'll see it so you don't forget about your goals.
- Feel free to throw out some ideas guys- if you were to set up a calendar for organization how would you do it? What would you include on your list? Help us all get more prepared!
